After completing an event, you are rewarded with a badge which most of the time connects directly to an unlockable tower. Additionally, beating an event map may also reward you with the respective map badge, if it is available.
While these rewards were linked to your badges, it was a completely independent system. Therefore, deleting your badges and re-earning them would not give you any additional rewards.
